SPIRAL MOVEMENT ALONG THE PATH

Actually I was not really interested to make tornado itself but his setup contains good basics of vector manipulation which is really useful for motion graphics works. So I decided to try assimilating it in my way and for my math capacity.

Therefore, please understand this post is more or less for personal note for better understanding of his setup.

SETUP

Well, here’s complete dynamics sets from up to down as screenshots with some additional notes.

*Note: Do not forget to set Raster Float to Multiply otherwise it doesn’t act as raster.

Of course you may add some turbulence via simple space-warp binding and using stdforce operator:

Just another test with thinner metalic wire. Nice!

Next time I will try to extend this setup so that I can use for particle motion more in more procedural way(without using path position operator) Or great would be make spiral movement along spiral movement.

It is quite simple to extend the setup to non-spline based and more procedural way.
Instead using path helper, you can actually create single particle with any velocity.
Then from there you can pipe position born which creates trail point particles via 1 pistol shot by each call.
After adjusting the Z Alignment you can treat that particle group from positionborn exactly in the same manner like in given example above.

Now what I wanna try is to create multiple guides and spirals which belong to it’s respective guide like following:
